General Information for Advocacy Outreach

Two areas of major interest in the brain tumor community are access to clinical trials and issues around stem cell research. We encourage you to take action and offer a variety of options below.

What can I do?

  • Write your elected officials

  • Get a proclamation signed by your mayor, governor, or premier

  • Contribute a story about brain tumors to your local newspaper, or television or radio station

  • Get a public service announcement placed on your local television or radio station

  • Help your hospital or health care center hold an awareness day for patients

  • Set up an awareness boot at your local shopping mall

  • Organize a walk or run

  • Tell everyone you know why this is important and how they can help

Get educated!

Learn the names of your elected officials as well as other information, such as their voting record(s) on issues that impact people affected by brain tumors on www.senate.gov and www.house.gov.
