6th Annual MFL Ski Day

Thank you to the Lewandowski family and their many supporters for another wonderful Ski Day. The annual MFL Ski Day is held in honor of Michael Lewandowski and, over six years, has raised over $100,000 to support NBTS’ Oligodendroglioma Brain Tumor Research Grant.

The 8th annual SSBTR Walkathon took place at Phoenix’s Pinnacle High School on March 7, 2009. The day was beautiful, with over 3,000 students and adults in attendance. This year also marked the inaugural SSBTR event in Tucson, AZ on February 28th, bringing the 2009 fundraising total to $205,000.

Golf for Hope

Save the date for the 5th annual Golf for Hope, offering both morning and afternoon golfing. Held at Blue Mash, this popular event is part of a special weekend dedicated to creating awareness and raising funds in support of the brain tumor community. Many participants join in the tradition by registering foursomes and/or signing up for one of many sponsorship opportunities. In 2008, this event raised almost $100,000! And, as with the Race for Hope – DC Presented by Cassidy & Pinkard Colliers, all funds raised in 2009 will benefit the National Brain Tumor Society and Accelerate Brain Cancer Cure. Billy Grey Ride for Research

This terrific annual event features riders biking 10, 25 or 50 miles around Saratoga Springs to raise awareness and funds for the Billy Grey Chair of Research in the NBTS Research Grant Program. A 5K walk will be held at the same time for those interested in walking instead of riding.

Have a Chance Walk

The Have a Chance Walk to Fight Brain Tumors features a 5K walk starting and ending at Manhattan’s Battery Park. Along the way, participants will experience breathtaking views of both the East and Hudson Rivers. Proceeds benefit Have a Chance and the National Brain Tumor Society. In its three years, the Have a Chance Walk has raised nearly $2 million to support financial assistance programs for patients and their families and vital work to find a cure for brain tumors.
