  1. How do I get started?

    So you want to join Racing Ahead. What is the first thing you will need to do? The first step is simple: all you need to do is decide what type of event you want pursue. Whether it's running, cycling, walking, hiking, or any other activity, you decide. Racing Ahead is here to support your ideas and efforts, not limit them.


  2. Are there events near me?

    Racing Ahead does not limit you to any particular event or events, official or unofficial. For those of you looking for an official event, such as a marathon, a bike race, a walk etc., chances are high that there is a scheduled event near you. Check your local papers for information or visit websites, such as those listed below, to aid your search of an upcoming event you can participate in.

  3. What if I want to create my own event?

    No problem! Lots of NBTS supporters have taken this approach – Spinning Southward, Climbing Mt. Everest, Eric’s RV Adventure, Brain’s Flight, and Kayaking the Maine Coast are some examples. Click here to learn more on our Community Events page.


  4. Once I have picked the event, then what do I do?

    Let us know! We are here to talk to you about your ideas, questions, and concerns. We want to help you reach your goals, so don’t be shy.

  5. Am I required to fundraise a minimum amount?

    No, there is no minimum. We simply encourage each team member to set their goals high, and then let your friends know about brain tumors and why you would like to help the National Brain Tumor Society.


  6. Is there a registration fee?

    Registration fees may vary and are determined by the event you choose to join. NBTS does not require a registration fee to join our program or use our online fundraising pages. Your desire to make a difference in the fight against brain tumors is all we ask!


  7. Can I participate with a group?

    Racing Ahead works with individuals and groups, so it doesn't matter which you choose. Whether you are by yourself or have a group of one hundred, our goal is to help you achieve your goals. We encourage you to get together with friends to increase your impact and to build your ability to generate publicity and funds.
